Bringing the Summer

Synopsis: It’s the lazy end of summer and Freya is about to start her A levels. Her brother Joe died a year ago, but she is slowly coming to terms with his death. She is beginning to feel ready for something new – a change. And then a railway accident brings her into contact with the gorgeous Gabe. Freya is drawn not just to his blond good looks, but everything about him, including his large, shambolic, warm and loving family, which seems to Freya so different from her own.
 And then Gabe’s clearly troubled older brother makes it clear he is interested in Freya – and Freya has some decisions to make about what she really wants...


Bringing the Summer is the sequel to Breathing Underwater. Bringing the Summer is by one of my favourite authors, Julia Green. She has written many heart whelming books. I was very excited for Bringing The Summer because I was very attached to Freya (the main character) in the earlier book. I was anxious to see how Freya's life continues. 

I have to mention that the book Breathing Underwater really changed me. It may sound weird that a book can change the thoughts, goals and believes of a person but it did. I could relate to many things from both the books. They changed my perspective and now I appreciate the things I have. 

Bringing the Summer is definitely suitable for those at the point in life when they try to find their calling. It showed the various emotions and obstacles that Freya faced. When you read the book, you will feel like you are the character because it was very well described.I was hooked to this book, like I am with every one of Julia Green's novels. I can promise you that anyone will enjoy this book the way I did.

What I learn from this is that we must always aim for the best that we deserve and that we should not stop until we get that. One life live it well. (:
