Coming up is never easy. These two dreamers will have to put everything on the line and do whatever it takes to succeed. It's the new American dream, and the sky's the limit. All they need is one shot.
Review:  The World Is Mine is the first book in the come up series.Love this book! Just simply inspiring! This book, like I said in my earlier post, is a form of encouragement for youths who are dreamers. I recommend the come up series to every dreamer who believes in himself. The book ended with a unpleasant ending.I completed this book today in school. The ending of the book was left hanging as it will be continued in the second book, Cant hold me down. The ending got me excited to read the book that I rushed to the near by library to get the second book! I will review on the second book soon! Keep dreaming till then.:)

Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry

Author: Mildred DeLois Taylor is an African American Author, known for her works exploring the struggle faced by African American families in the Deep South.

Synopsis: The story of one African American family fighting to stay together and strong in the face of brutal racist attacks, illness, poverty, and betrayal in the Deep South of the 1930s.

Review: I came across this book in the library last December when I was searching for a book to do a book review on for a holiday assignment. I could definitely not put down this book. The story line was so grasping and touching. It made me feel that people are not being treated fairly around the world whether it is in the 1930s or 2012. Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry was definitely inspiring. It was unique and will be an eye opener for many. The author was very expressive an elaborate. I learnt that there is a prequel to this book called ' Song Of The Trees' and 'The Land'. The sequel is called  ' Let the circle be unbroken'.

Somewhere Else

Author: Sandra Glover is a popular, award winning author of books for both teens and younger readers. Married, with three grown-up children, Sandra lives in Cumbria where she works for a literacy consultancy and runs Writing Workshops. She's a qualified teacher who enjoys giving talks in schools.

Sypnosis: Zan is worried about his sister, Jade, who doesn't seem to recognise family and friends. Even more disturbing, Jade insists she's Janet Bailey; a girl from another time and place. This must be the result of Jade's recent horrific ordeal, musn't it? But if it's Post Traumatic Stress then why are her memories of being Janet so utterly vivid? And will they ever be able to get the real Jade back?

Review: I enjoyed this book. It had a tiny bit of mystery and a grasping factor. We get to read from both Janet and Jade's point. I recommend this book strongly! :)

Currently Reading The World Is Mine

Hey there fellow bookworm! I wanted to share with you a book I am currently reading. It is 'The World Is Mine' by Lyah B. LeFlore.
It is about Blue Reynolds a teenager who is a dreamer on the mission to become the world's next music business mogul. I believe that many teenagers will be able to relate to this book. A fun paragraph from the book 'All I know is the ones who do hustle are one of the smartest cats in math you'll ever meet. How else would they be able to flip drug, make that cash and triple their investments? That's street algebra and calculus.'

I am going to begin chapter 12 of this book. Will be doing the book review immediately after i complete this book.

Breathing Underwater

Author: Julia Green is the Course Director on the MA in Creative Writing for Young People at Bath Spa, and has had three novels published by Puffin. She lives in Bath.

A perfect coming of age for any young girl just tipping into teenhood.
Sypnosis: Freya has come to visit her grandparents who live on a remote island. Last year she visited them with her brother - but last year her brother died alone in a boating accident. Whilst back on the island, Freya finds a way, with the calming presence of her grandparents and the gentle care and attention of the people around her, to adjust to the fact that her brother has gone, and that life - and love - are still vibrantly in the air.

Review: This book definitely touched my heart. I loved the ending. I would like to quote this paragraph
'Accidents happen. Things change utterly in an instant. This is my life now, here, without Joe. You just have to get on with it. Keep hold of the memories. Seize the small moments of happiness.'

This phrase is inspiring to me. When I read the book, I felt as if i was in the book. When I was at the library looking through the teens section, I found this book. I read the summary and I thought this book was just what I needed to start the new school year with! There is a second book that has not be published yet.The book is called Bringing the Summer.
